In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
O Lord, we commend this nation to your compassionate and merciful care. Guide us by your providence, that we may dwell secure in peace. Grant the President of the United States your wisdom and strength, that he may know and do your will. Fill our President with love for truth and righteousness, that he may be ever mindful of his call to serve our country with humility and honor.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, even unto the ages of ages, Amen.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, shelter Barack Obama beneath your glorious mantel of grace, and prevent him from placing the unborn in danger. Lead him to the truth about abortion and human sexuality, and assist him in exercising true Christian charity for all men, from natural conception until natural death, Amen.
Me, I have been thinking that the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy I have been saying for the intention of the United States of America before the election — should go on.
(On top of the Psalm I said every day for the same intention.)
November 5th, 2008 at 8:15 pmAgreed. Difficult times may be ahead, and prayer is needed. We must make atonement for the sins of our nation, to ensure God’s blessings on our children.
We must also pray for our new President. He needs our support, and our Lord’s grace. Our country is going through difficult times.
